The Warehouse is responsible for the manufacture of Polyaluminum Chloride (PAC) and Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH) products and maintenance of applicable equipment, storage tanks, and process capabilities. The assignment also requires that all federal and state regulations be followed during the course of the work being performed in the facility.

This position reports directly to the Water Treatment Chemicals Operations Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following but not inclusive, list of the responsibilities and activities performed by the Operator:

Operate manufacturing equipment to produce WTC products.

Initiation and document all technical information directly or indirectly related to the products. Write up batch sheets, raw material data, tank levels, batch adjustments, and finished product analysis.

Perform laboratory analysis of intermediate and finish products.

Movement of products from storage to truck loading rack and from trucks to raw material storage tanks.

Overall housekeeping and general maintenance of PAC and ACH production units and adjoining areas.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

A high school diploma or state-approved equivalency is required for this position.

The assignment requires background in plant operations and a broad knowledge of all equipment and processes associated with the Water Treatment Chemical products. Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations is required. Experience/licensing with fork lift/front end loaders preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting technical information, which requires fluency in written English. This position also requires the ability to read and understand written technical data and the ability to comprehend and act on verbal instructions and directions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and interpret formula information. Ability to write simple instructions. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to pass along pertinent information to other lab personnel and production. Ability to write simple reports as required.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

This position requires the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, and the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or verbal form and deal with multiple abstract and concrete variables.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in solving problems. Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. This position requires that the incumbent perform basic physical functions such as stooping, balancing, climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, shovel, sweep, working overhead, and in confined spaces. Walking on concrete and gravel surfaces throughout the day, frequent use of stairs, and extended periods of driving a forklift and/or front end loader will also be required.

Activities may require incumbent wear respiratory protection (half/full face cartridge respirators) while performing tests. Candidates will be required to pass a pulmonary function test and fit test prior to be able to wear the respiratory protection. Incumbent may also have to use escape pack (self contained breathing apparatus and suits) for emergency escape or evacuation.

This position requires incumbent bend and stoop to move and operate hoses and piping (up to 50 pounds), open and close shipping containers and general valve operations, as well as routine maintenance.

There will be considerable physical activity in both indoor and outdoor locations. This position is a 40 hour/week/8 hour day as conditions dictate.This person must hold a valid driver s license and be able to be insured by Company. This position will require incumbent to wear appropriate dress attire (uniform, PPE, etc) as required by the Deer Park site-wide rules of operation.

This is a chemical plant environment that is often hot and dusty. There will be exposure to hazardous chemicals and machinery.

There will be considerable physical activity in both indoor and outdoor locations.

Employees at the Deer Park facility are included in the random drug testing program. All employees are required to undergo pre-employment physicals and drug testing, as well as respiratory fit testing. Other site-specific testing may be required.

All employees of the company are required to comply with all required safety rules and regulations, including but not limited to: training, safety program compliance, and additional site-specific rules and regulations.
