Our client has been providing inspection, laboratory testing, and other important services to the Petroleum Industry for over 30 years. They work out of over 50 locations worldwide, and one of our local offices is currently seeking to hire a Procurement Clerk with Purchasing experience.

Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled individual who exhibits a high level of professionalism and places high importance on customer satisfaction. The Procurement Clerk position requires an individual with strong ethics and understands that his or her actions contributes to the reputation of our company.

**_Job Summary:_**

* Purchases materials, supplies and equipment as directed.
* To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to show initiative, work independently, pay close attention to detail, and be able to perform each of these essential duties and responsibilities satisfactorily.

**_Essential Job Functions:_**

* Create and process Purchase Orders.
* Follow up on any problems with delivery and update the Purchase Orders accordingly.
* Research and select products according to quality, price and serviceability standards.
* Ensure the timely and cost effective shipment methods consistent with established delivery requirements.
* Works with vendors on all backorder items and secures substitutes as necessary
* Communicate to requestors and mangers on any supply issues.
* Work with Accounts payable to resolve any discrepancies on any supply related invoices.
* Fills office supplies requisitions and accepts deliveries.
* Carries and delivers to requesting corporate departments.
* On a monthly basis, inventory all items in company stockroom, and kitchen storage
* Travel to local vendors to pick up items that cannot be delivered following department protocol.
* A valid driver s license is required.
* Acts as backup to other purchasing Clerks and Buyers and promptly report any issues to the Purchasing Manager.
* Accept additional responsibilities as assigned to ensure the optimal overall operation of the company and to support teamwork.
* Reconcile monthly credit card statements. (To be reviewed)

* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong problem solving, organizational, and planning skills
* Strong attention to detail
* Work independently and with others in small groups
* Able to organize and prioritize workload and keep supervisor informed of any deadlines / shortages
* Eager and able to learn and grasp new concepts
* Trustworthy, dependable, and reliable
* Be able to perform math calculations: addition, multiplication, division, subtraction, work with percentages and decimals.
* Strong computer skills needed; MS Word, Outlook and Excel

**_Certificates and Licenses Recommended:_**

* Valid Driver s License

**_Education and Experience:_**

* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Associates Degree is a plus
* One to two years experience in Data Entry and Buying
